The
Music Department may be found on the third floor of Ryder Hall,
on the campus of Northeastern University.
The
University is also home to rehearsal and performance facilities
used by students, faculty, and visiting artists.

Northeastern
music students enjoy access to state-of-the-art music laboratories.
The Computer Music Laboratory features twelve electronic music workstations
that are capable of digital audio editing, music sequencing and
composition, music notation, sound synthesis, desktop publishing,
and multimedia production.

|
|
The
department is also home to the University's state-of-the-art recording
studio. An acoustically perfect 16-track digital facility featuring
Tascam recorders, a Mackie console, numerous outboard processors,
a wide selection of microphones, a Hammond organ, and a Yamaha grand
piano. The studio's facilities are complemented by a digidesign ProTools/24
digital audio workstation. This facility produces master quality recordings,
many of which have been released on CD. |

Greenline
Records is a newly-created record label, affiliated with the
Music Department. The label's mission is to provide students with
real-life experiences realted to planning, recording, releasing,
and distributing recorded product into the market place.
